Skinning the dragon
Once the fibreglass had hardened, I needed to ask myself:
"What does a dragon actually look like?" Having never seen one myself, I had to do some research by checking out a few books! I chatted to a friend who recommended that I should go with the traditional scales - I had to agree with them, even though I knew how much work it was going to be.
The head is rather big, and this is going to mean lots of scales. It's long, boring work, but once I got started I felt a compulsion to see it through to the bitter end!
With the nose part I tried to get it as clean and smooth as possible to resemble the shiny 'beak' bit of the dragon's nose.
